After comments from Dr. Thomas Zweng, there will be a CEO commentary and roundtable discussions with infection control directors and physicians in member hospitals. The meeting will close with a discussion of collaborative strategies and next steps for Memphis healthcare workers. The meeting will adjourn at 11 AM.

Speaker's Biographical Sketch:

Thomas N. Zweng, MD, is the Vice President of Medical Affairs for the Southern Piedmont Region. Dr. Zweng serves as the General Surgery Department Chair and the OR Medical Director for the Presbyterian Hospital. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is also a member of the trauma service for Presbyterian Hospital.
As an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, he developed the laparoscopic program for the medical center, performing the first laparoscopic procedures for gallbladder removal, Nissen fundoplication and hernia repair. In addition, Dr. Zweng was the director of surgical endoscopy. Dr. Zweng's special interests are in laparoscopic, gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery as well as endoscopy.
