P4P and Public Reporting for Physicians
"Public Reporting" and "Pay For Performance" are coming soon to Memphis. Although these concepts are increasingly in the news and public consciousness, physicians may not fully understand what they mean or how they relate to their own practices.
This forum, sponsored by MQI, is designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, and practice managers to shine light on these initiatives and share successful strategies for implementing them into their practices. Information shared during this program will be an invaluable resource for health care professionals as we learn together about how P4P will affect the practice of medicine in the Mid-South.
Dr. Susan Nedza, Chief Medical Officer of the Center for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS), will speak during the first hour about the national P4P landscape. During the middle portion of the program, representatives from several health plans will discuss their local initiatives and their timeline for implementation. The PQRI and NCQA programs will be reviewed as well. The final hour will see a round-table discussion of the pros and cons of these efforts.
